why am i only hearing about Francesca Hong being an *ACTUAL* trailblazing left-wing candidate only in the past few weeks while i had Graham Platner thrown into my face the past year? (yes racism & misogyny are big reasons why)
NPR@npr.org · 2w agoWith her democratic socialist brand of politics, Madison Rep. Francesca Hong is defining the terms of the Democratic primary for governor in Wisconsin. Mainstream Democrats are worried she would lose in November and are scrambling for an alternative (via Wisconsin Public Radio).

For 50+ years, "harm" under the Endangered Species Act meant two things: killing an animal, or destroying the place it lives. The bald eagle, the California condor, the American alligator - all recovered because both counted. As of last Friday, only one still does.
