i can’t believe garfield, much like me, has sleep apnea
bucatini has a pleasant bounce to it but its unslurpable nature means it will never be that girl
i think i have watched two tv shows to completion ever and both were cartoons, lmao
Your turn ... www.nytimes.com/interactive/...
People who buy and resell stuff is a type of middleman we absolutely need to bring back. I am not going to start an ebay account. You give me 50% of the value and I'll let you keep the other 50% for making it Not My Problem.
i shouldn’t have to think about california ever
I'm back, I missed you all. Since this is an important subject I know too much about, here's a 🧵 explaining that AI Safety Is Mostly A Sex Cult. I don't think these people should make policy. (1/?) (alternative title: Time For Some Cult Theory)
everyone gets mad at me when i say this but if americans understood how world-historically wealthy our *entire society* is, then our political environment would be a lot different
It's really worrisome how much of American society is a steady jog on the hedonic treadmill. People will quickly expand their level of consumption to whatever they can afford (on credit), it objectively does not make them happier, and then when they're asked to give anything up it's a crisis
just drove from columbia heights to chevy chase to pick up a credenza without the seller confirming meetup time and he saw my message minutes after i got to his block, god is so good and i am his favorite
My most Shaq opinion is that it basically takes a day to get most places. Minnesota? Los Angeles? Tokyo? It’s all more or less a day what with the going to the airport and the arriving and decompressing.
the phantom of the opera is there inside your mind, as if you didn't have enough to worry about
tabasco is an INGREDIENT not a HOT SAUCE open your freakin third eye
this discourse bores me, lets do hotly held low stakes opinions. Tabasco sauce is overrated and if you enjoy it on anything other than fries youre a bad person
selling snow cones to children from a hut on the beach :-)
Happy labor day (USA). What's one of the oddest paid job you've had? Mine was probably as a reader for a medical professor at Rutgers, whose eyes were failing. I read him many academic texts, as well as Samuel Butler's "The Way of All Flesh."
doubly so if it’s an amazon delivery driver sorry
i believe in the death penalty for people who block the bus lane
Me, watching LSU and the SEC fight each other in court, unbothered by any outcome, because all of American Amateurism is just a scheme to devalue labor and every one of us is unclean.
i believe in the death penalty for people who block the bus lane
perhaps a dumb question but what are people using instead of 1Password? i’ve used it since 2019 and been pretty happy until their fash turn. i can do apple password manager but if there is something better pls tell me
I think it is in fact pretty important to cancel 1Password if you can. It’s a chance to send tech companies a message about the “vibe shift,” and how it was an illusion, and also: they’re donating 300k, it isn’t that much of a stretch for their cancellations to outstrip that + magnify the cost a lot
unfortunately i have gotten addicted to evil pilates and im going to drag as many of you to hell with me as i can
this is so sad i literally could not catalog all the various hijinks i got up to at house parties as a teen/young adult
kids today are literally confused about whether "partying" was real or an urban legend
you should try posting better
oh you have a spreadsheet job? you're an incell?
Women love me. It’s ok to eat fish because they don’t have any feelings.
Hot take: A certain kind of American leftism is deeply culturally Protestant, even if it disbelieves in God, because of its preeminent focus on having the right inner mindset and intention and feeling properly guilty about one's moral failings to live up to a certain standard.
One thing you can see in the latest Stancil blowup is that a sizable share of this website thinks that good intentions are the only thing that matter in policymaking, and expressing skepticism that a policy will really work as intended is equivalent to stealing food from the poor.
remember when one of the talias was saying white people shouldn’t say inshallah and then also learned that ojalá is a direct loan word into spanish of the same LOL
I just learned of the Discourse (tm) about how white people saying “inshallah” is counterrevolutionary cultural appropriation I know I’m late here, but thought I’d add my thoughts as a former Arabic professor: That’s stupid and no way in hell that whoever started it actually speaks Arabic
people who refuse to use doordash on ideological grounds (me) insanely vindicated
In a statement, DoorDash tells me that the council passed the "arbitrary" new fee without holding any hearings. "We have always supported home rule for D.C.," says the company. "But will continue to defend D.C.'s small businesses, local economy, and underserved residents."
