Guys, shoujosei and shouseinen are just foreign fandom terms for joseimuke and danseimuke (the equivalent used to group female and male demographics manga in Japan). Also, "shoujo manga" is basically shorthand for "shoujosei" in Japan already because they're not really separate. 🧵

Josei is largely an English fandom term and is under the umbrella of shoujo so all “josei manga” are also shoujo manga.

I don’t want this point to be lost in the discourse. Going digital-only means inequity for people who cannot afford internet or constantly purchasing new games. Libraries provide opportunities for people to experience games they otherwise wouldn’t be able to afford, and that will be lost.

Jocelyne Allen@brainvsbook.bsky.social · 3mo agoWhy do none of these doofuses realize a) there are *plenty* of translators, they just have to actually pay us, and b) the manga market outside Japan is very different and you can't release every manga ever made without cratering sales and destroying reader trust??
Said it before but I think it would behoove the western anime fandom to realize that if you're really worried about AI translations being pushed, you need to be way less worried about western distributors and more worried about JP licensors who view the localization process as a mere afterthought
