When a party can’t defend its own record, it reaches for “communists and Islamists.” That line isn’t an argument; it’s a panic button. If Senate Republicans think this is their strongest case, maybe they know voters are more interested in prices, corruption, and abuse of power.

When your party leader is a president with historically low approval ratings, who has raised prices through tariffs and wars, uses disaster relief and science grants to punish states that didn’t vote for him, and has agents shooting people in the streets, this is what you do.
