‘Radical’ comes from a Latin word meaning "root." Because roots are the deepest part of a plant, ‘radical’ came to describe things understood as fundamental or essential. ‘Radical change’ was a change at the root of a system.
I’ve been taken down by some respiratory virus and am lying in bed gathering my strength to get up and vote.
I hate the time change but it was a treat to get an extra hour of sleep and drive to work in the light of day this morning.
One of my kids is dressing as a my little pony character and the other as Donnie Darko. This is a pretty good summation of their personalities.

In the wild, they mostly eat toads & other amphibians. Honestly, we need an Oscar category for "Best Performance by a Snake".
It’s been so hot, a lizard came instead our house to cool off. He has now been staying with us for three days. He has made himself at home and no one has been able to catch him.
I went to my first author talk/book signing tonight and it was so much fun.
I do not think we should have a death penalty. I don't think it is any kind of deterrent. I think it's barbaric. I think it makes us all worse people. All of us. And we just don't have to do this to ourselves. We could abolish it, and we should.
This is so bizarre to me. Maybe because I work in a profession that runs on coffee?
