Proud to celebrate two inspiring graduates whose journeys to UofG began after seeking safety in Scotland. Hosay Zazai, from Afghanistan, graduated in Community Development. Dr Pinar Aksu, from Turkey, earned a PhD in Education and Law. Congratulations Hosay and Pinar!

Hosay on gradaution day.Text reads: “I feel so happy to be graduating today. My family has come along with me - My husband, my mother, my children and my nieces have all been there to support me.

“I believe nothing should stop women from achieving what they want. If they want to study, they should do so and achieve their dreams.”

-Hosay Zazai, BA Community DevelopmentDr Pinar Aksu on graduation day“I am filled with joy to have graduated with my PhD at the University of Glasgow. My research explored ‘Art and Law in Migration: art practices for social change and access to justice’.

“I am deeply grateful to my supervisors, Alison Phipps & Maria Fletcher for guiding me over the many years.

“This PhD is for people seeking justice in such unjust immigration system. For people seeking asylum and refuge. To finding possibilities with solidarity, creativity, art and the law.”

Dr Pinar Aksu, PhD School of Education

Super blog about multilingualism. This message from Denise Amankwah should underpin all the work we do as educators. 'we cannot assume we already know what meaningful inclusion looks like from a young person’s perspective. We need to ask them.'

Great blog by Denise Amankwah, highlighting how to involve young people in planning initiatives that explore and celebrate multilingualism: naldic.org.uk/internationa... #NALDIC #Multilingualism #RepresentationMatters #YouthVoices #Collaboration #Languages #Lingsky #Langsky

It's always good to collaborate, learn and exchange ideas with colleagues and students from Universidad de Extremadura, Spain! #COIL,#Tesol, @uofgeducation.bsky.social

And here we are again this year, enjoying this wonderful COIL experience with @glasgow.ac.uk. Thank you @salzacharias.bsky.social and @dobrochnafutro.bsky.social (+colleagues and students) for making this possible in such an enriching way (and for the pics 😉)! Can't wait for our next session!

📚Snapshots of LLYML course🤓 What is LLYML? 🥸 It is short for ‘Language Learning for Young Multilingual Learners’, one of our TESOL option course. On Monday, we had a COIL session with Spanish students online. It was a lovely chance for exchanging ideas and thoughts!🤩 #uofgtesol #uofglasgow

Greetings from Kyiv. Today, on International Holocaust Remembrance Day, I want to send a hug to everyone whose families suffered. Let’s do what we can to ensure such horrors never happen again. Let’s think of others, and care for them. 🫂
