The value of social media is not parroting others’ agendas. You can get that with news outlets, TV, radio, workplaces etc. The true value is allowing us to show up as our true selves & express our genuine takes. If we’re prevented by fear of toxicity or desire to win approval then it’s not worth it.
Interesting, RE the value of novelty, and an insightful comment by @nisreenalwan.bsky.social RE who may produce it. IMO this relates to the rise of pseudoscientific "hierarchies of evidence" that mirror hierarchies of influence - a terra nullius where nothing counts until the right people say it.

#LongCovid is not a ‘subject’ to dispute. It’s a health condition that changes people’s lives. Definitions can evolve & that’s not an excuse to dismiss the illness itself. Diagnostic criteria for diabetes have repeatedly changed over time but no one takes u seriously if you say diabetes in disputed!

I’m intrigued by the recent resurgence of the ‘Long Covid is not real’ nonsense we saw back in 20/21. The refusal to learn is one thing, but the dismissal of reality is another. Long Covid is too painful, too common & too present in many people’s lives to be denied. The story is hard to rewrite.
The choice was never to lockdown or not because the system was never capable to withstand a non-lockdown scenario. The choice was only WHEN to lockdown. The earlier the better and shorter, which didn't happen. Also 'expertise' was largely ignored on those decisions. www.thelancet.com/pdfs/journal...

It would be a good first step to stop regarding population health as merely a facilitator for economic growth and instead reinstate ‘the economy’ as a servant to people’s health and wellbeing.

I do wonder how people who dedicate their lives to serving greed & sowing division feel on their deathbed. Is it conviction in their path till the end? Is it regret? denial? I don’t know what’s the meaning of life but I do wish my last thought to be that I did my best to help & avoid hurting others.
