Homelab nerds (@aly.codes, everyone), I always do everything on my personal laptop, am setting up an old samsung fedora for file-hosting, local-app-hosting, emulators etc. Do I just tailscale and then do the regular stuff? are there any weird/cool alternatives to have fun with?

Proud of myself today. What started as a simple infinite-grid shader turned into a month-long journey through rendering, maths, and plenty of frustration—but I finally got it working. I wrote about everything I learned: willofindie.com/proj/infinit... #webgpu #rustlang #glsl #realtimerendering

Mostly because it's realistically impossible. Basically every major engine is touched by AI code. Python itself is too. On an OS with AI code, sharing projects and art on websites with AI code. I advise worrying about minimizing harm, not trying to staying some nebulous kind of 'pure'.

Although honestly, starting an indie-oriented strictly 100%-no-AI engine might be a valuable effort to service people looking for that, although it might be redundant if AI collapses in the next year or two.

i want to spread the word about atproto. if you’re running a podcast, i’d be happy to hop in to talk about it. i understand it decently well and can explain it without much jargon. it’s one of the most interesting developments in the last 30 years of web, and i can defend that. please dm to set up!
