Why did Maine dems back a guy with a Nazi tattoo, sexts, and racist Reddit posts? Everyday Americans are often willing to overlook discretions for a candidate who isn't "looking down on them." My conversation with Musa al-Gharbi on why wokeness is a dead end. www.motherjones.com/politics/202...

Why the scandal-ridden Democrat with a Nazi tattoo won Maine’s Senate primary

According to the Stony Brook sociology professor who wrote the book unpacking why wokeness is a dead end.

The AMA said surgeries should “generally be deferred to adulthood.” (The generally established guidance) The NYT characterized this as the AMA having “backed limitations on gender-related surgical treatments.” What the NYT wrote is different than what AMA said. Full stop. 1/2

The New York Times’s body of reporting on the American Medical Association’s stance on gender-related care for minors is accurate and factual, and remains so despite the recent statement from the Chair of the A.M.A. Board, which contradicts the A.M.A.’s own statements. www.nytco.com/press/fact-c...

the trump administration is taking a lot of inspiration from nazi propaganda. my new video looks at some of the most egregious examples from their feeds—and I think it's helping prime everyday people to cheer on even more awful things.

The US government won't stop sharing Nazi propaganda. This past year, official social media accounts from the Department of Homeland Security, the White House, and other government agencies have adopted a distinct voice online. But if you look closer, a pattern emerges.

Hard to say how many showed up for Alex Pretti’s vigil, but easily hundreds if not thousands. After community activists and leaders spoke at the park where they gathered, everyone marched to the site of Pretti’s killing. Streets just filled with people demanding ICE out.

“If Minnesota falls, everything falls. We’re done as a nation.” Fury. Grief. Anguish. Locals on the frontlines of Trump’s attack on Minneapolis are speaking out following the killing of another one of their neighbors. We’re on the ground with @samveep.bsky.social tracking the aftermath.

I was just supposed to follow clergy leaders as they did a pilgrimage from George Floyd Square to Renée Good’s memorial. But then when we got back to the landing spot, we found out an observer had been attacked by ICE agents who had been tailing the religious leaders. From me today in Minneapolis:

ICE attacked an observer after they tailed a group of clergy on a spiritual pilgrimage. Our digital producer @sam.vp just so happened to be with the clergy on their journey. He spoke with the observer who was attacked and others who witnessed the assault.

In the aftermath of the ICE killing of Renée Good, Trump's admin smeared her as a “domestic terrorist." That’s despite video evidence to the contrary. Today, we joined the Manhattan thong for one of many dozens of protests held around the country this weekend. We asked protesters: What did you see?

A disgusting development in the story of the aftermath of Renee Good’s death. From @katieherchenroeder.bsky.social: Grok unhesitatingly fulfilled a user’s request on Wednesday to generate an image of Renee Good in a bikini—the woman who was killed by an ICE agent that morning in Minneapolis.

Grok deepfaked Renee Nicole Good's body into a bikini

Hours after an ICE agent killed the mother of three, Elon Musk’s chatbot was undressing her.

Grok unhesitatingly fulfilled an X user’s request to put a bikini onto the body of ICE shooting victim Renee Nicole Good. The chatbot, launched by Elon Musk, has been making deepfakes of a lot of other women, too. My latest in @motherjones.com: 🧵 www.motherjones.com/politics/202...
