Apple got a $2.2 billion tariff refund. Amazon got $600 million. Trump is sending the "refunds" to the companies, not working people. Every single cent of these refunds should go back to American consumers.

I worked for New York’s largest medical center at the start of the pandemic. There were morgue trucks on the streets. They set up emergency medical tents in Central Park. Healthcare worker colleagues died. It is horrific that RFK Jr is on national TV lying that ICUs were empty.

I took up a position in an Italian hospital just as the Covid epidemic began. In my first days I watched a strong 18-year-old man die unable to breathe. Now the US prez wants to score political points from the misery of others. He is a POS.

I'm old enough to remember when polio put my friends into iron lungs. We dutifully lined up at school to get vaccinated. We eradicated the disease. We protected the common good and saved lives. What RFK Jr. is doing to public health in America is a disgrace.

On this trip to Sister Bay I had been looking forward to introducing our son Niall to one of my favorite people here. Sadly, on arriving I learned that William had died. From his obituary I learned so much about him I wish I had known while he was here. This happens much too often.

People embracing a racist who trashes US democracy because she also now supports Ukraine need to understand what they are supporting. You must own this as well. There is one side in support of freedom and the rule of law, and this is not on that side.

We went to a restaurant for dinner. At the next table, a couple was speaking Italian. Our extrovert son spoke to them, " In quale città vivi? Vivo a Venezia." They were surprised. The five of us then joined our tables together for a pleasant dinner.

What Trump and Republicans are doing in the US is what Communism did in the Soviet Union. That's why Republicans are so eager to label Democrats as communists -- to deflect attention away from what they're doing.

Trump’s national socialism is concentrating ever more power in Trump’s hands — and helping to line the pockets of the super-rich along the way. Some thoughts... https://robertreich.substack.com/p/trumps-state-socialism
