These channels are senstive to water and ice absorption and then it is possible to easily distinguish between water clouds and snow on the ground.

🛰️🔥 #Smoke over the central Atlantic , particularly that south near the Equator usually originates in Africa. But this time it originates in northern #Canada (10000km away!), which is rather uncommon. It shows that it #smoke can travel practically anywhere in the same hemisphere.

Through this weekend and next week, dry, dusty air from the Sahara will blow high above Florida and the Gulf Coast, as well as the Caribbean, creating hazy skies, which may enhance sunrises and sunsets as sunlight filters through the tiny dust particles.
