The medical guidance on dealing with Covid has never changed for immunocompromised or high-risk people. It has always been to wear a mask in crowded and indoor spaces. People will literally yell at kids with cancer and the rest of polite society goes “oh well, personal responsibility…”

A really important update for commuters who park at Metro stations — on match days it will be $10 at certain stations and some stations won't have any commuter parking available at all. And parking at Union Station will be $65 on match days *and* fan zone days. I've added this all to my guide!

Los Angeles will soon host several 2026 World Cup events. We will have options for direct bus service, park and rides, and plenty of ways to get you to the stadium. Because of this, some pricing and availability will differ. On World Cup match days June 12, 15, 18, 21, 25, 28 and July 2, 10: Regular transit parking (non-reserved) will be $10 at Harbor Gateway Transit Center, North Hollywood, Norwalk, Aviation/Imperial, Lakewood Bl, El Monte and Atlantic stations. Regular transit parking will NOT be available at Hawthorne/Lennox, Crenshaw and Pierce College stations. At Union Station, parking will be $65 on a first-come, first-served basis on match days as well as “Heart of the City: Los Angeles Union Station Fan Zone” event days: June 12, 15, 18, 21, 25, 26, 27, 28, July 2, 10.

Restrictions on AI and Automation: No new self-checkout, kiosks, or cashier-less technology can be deployed, safeguarding jobs. Groundbreaking Privacy Rights: Workers cannot be forced to surrender Social Security numbers, immigration status, or country of origin for accreditation of mega events like the World Cup. FIFA’s accreditation demands are prohibited by the contract. Unprecedented Right to Strike: Workers have the contractual right to walk off the job if the Union determines in good faith that federal immigration agency actions threaten worker safety during a World Cup match. "These workers are heroes. They stood up to FIFA. They stood up to ICE. They won a historic contract, and they are ready for whatever comes during the World Cup.
