The “best” thing about genAI (the quotes are doing heavy work here) is that it’s really lowered the bar on getting into hand-made art. Literally anything you make is better than ai. There’s never been a better time to throw away your fear and start learning that craft you’ve always wanted to learn.

'You'll choke too' - an aerial embroidery landscape inspired by all the wildfires happening right now... I'm upset every time I smell smoke outside and somehow we have people starting them maliciously too! But we all breathe the same air so they'll choke too (1/2 - see thread for close-ups)

An embroidery hoop containing a sewn landscape from above. It shows a forest on the right, a line of fire and charred ground with smoke on the left. The smoke is felted wool.

GOOD LORD I'M A NERD Looking at a specific whale, L77 "Matia". Found this post from The Center for Whale Research labeling her with a calf in 2019. I double-check the ID guide and.... It's not L77, but L25 "Ocean Sun" (the oldest SRKW!!) Excuse the photos of my laptop screen. I'm also old. Lol

2019 Facebook post by Center for Whale Research labeling the adult here as L77.Close up of the adult whale in the FB post. Very distinct saddle patch.L77 on the official Center for Whale Research ID guide. Also very distinct saddle patch.L25's official identification with her very distinct saddle patch.

My body reminded me of my age after I painted sets for six hours yesterday. Ended up needing to take the entire day off to literally do nothing but play Tomodachi Life and nap. I was sore in so many new places! Welp. Painting more sets tomorrow. Wish my bones luck. 😁👍🏼
