Did you ever play the ultra rare Taito arcade game BAS that ACE Magazine reviewed in 1988? You probably have without realising it, as they were reviewing Raimais, which was no doubt installed in a recently released Brent Leisure BAS generic arcade cab The game name's on the screen lads
This is starting to blow up a bit (I'm really happy to see so many people interested in Kamaitachi!), so if you are a fan of murder mysteries, I'd love it if you could maybe possibly check out our little games inspired by Japanese adventures of yore. 🙏

Kamaitachi no Yoru is simply one of the most important Japanese games in history, period. In the historical trajectory of novel games, if Otogirisou, Chunsoft's previous gane, is Pac-Land, this is Super Mario Brothers. It is that foundational in the storytelling and design paradigms it codified.
I'm trembling while writing this: Kamaitachi no yoru—not the PC remake, not the iOS port, but the actual original SFC version—has been translated at last by ButThouMust, who graciously brought us an English patch for Otogirisou in the past. This is HISTORICAL.
Also, according to the notes on the GitHub page: "No generative AI or LLMs have touched, nor will touch, any part of this translation project. All code for my custom tools, all ASM hacks, all graphics edits, and particularly the translated script, were created manually." 💖

DS exclusive horror adventure Nanashi no Game is an enthralling mix of spooky 3D exploration, glitchy 2D storytelling, and Mandarake brand placement: kimimithegameeatingshemonster.com/2026/08/03/n...
Nanashi no Game: Terrifying enough to make the DS look scary
The usual clear lines between reality and fiction blur almost instantly in Nanashi no Game (“The Nameless Game”). I play as, um, me. I look out at the world exclusively through my own e…

For #OSThursday... A bit of Sega Ages 2500 Golden Axe, why not? There's a lot to be said about the game itself, but the remixes here by Makoto Iida are thoroughly excellent. Here's the new version of one of my Golden Axe favourites, Turtle Village www.youtube.com/watch?v=qH_i...
