Best advice I ever got in this vein was look at your favorite illustrators and artists then figure out who they were looking at for inspiration, then figure out who THEY were looking at, then pull your references and inspo from those artists. This lack of diving deeper is a problem everywhere sadly

If you have a Gmail account, you need to read this. Google's AI now scans your emails and attachments, bank statements, tax files, medical letters, all of it. It turned on by default, and there's a class-action lawsuit over how. Here are 5 moves to shut it off, the switch is hidden in two places:

Less than a month until my partner and I's trip to Hong Kong and Guilin I've been working towards for a couple of years... I can't start looking up dim sum places in HK with outdoor seating. I can't do that yet, the anticipation will kill me. (I already did and now I can't stop thinking about it.)

Land defenders are asking for you to join them. Folks on the ground in Lochiel, AZ / La Noria, MX have halted construction at the site of a 200 year old Cottonwood tree, yet construction resumed this morning just a few hundred yards from the last standing Cottonwood tree.

Healing from an injury like this sure feels different than healing from an elective surgery... Way more of a wound and less of a procedure. I've mostly been sitting on the couch grinding on my Chinese studies, but I'm starting to feel kinda stir crazy. I miss being outdoors moving my body around.

Ill be starting to share my backlog of new art on here starting this coming week! Sorry it's been so long, I've been making lots of stuff, I just haven't had time or energy to do the extra steps of sharing it beyond Patreon. Lots of low energy + low executive function lately.

We have to organise like everyone's lives depend on it because they do. Academics writing on climate have described a need for a "revolution of mythic proportions" to bring about the change needed to save our planet from ecological collapse, so that's what we're going to have to create

Any anxiety or stress you're having about climate change now demonstrably being on a societal collapse pathway should be sharing this. We all have to become protestors actively doing everything we can to transform the world and buy more time. Every war ended and pipeline shut down is less carbon

'You'll choke too' - an aerial embroidery landscape inspired by all the wildfires happening right now... I'm upset every time I smell smoke outside and somehow we have people starting them maliciously too! But we all breathe the same air so they'll choke too (1/2 - see thread for close-ups)

Last day to comment on this and make your voice heard, please defend Chaco canyon which is sacred to Pueblo, Navajo, and Hopi peoples and stands at risk of over 300,000 acres losing protections so it can be pillaged for gas and oil.

BLM is revoking protections on Chaco Canyon. If you don't like national parks giving sacred lands to oil+gas companies, you have until July 29th to submit public comments. act.foodandwaterwatch.org/page/96315/a...

20,000 people killed by heat in Europe in less than a week. That's the finding by @ccallahan45.bsky.social, a first-rate scientist who has co-authored several important climate attribution studies. Near real-time analysis like this is so important -- it makes the invisible visible.
