At the end of the term I asked my college creative wriing students to submit anonymous thoughts on AI. No real surprises: Mood ranges from resignation to despair, capitulation from embittered erosion of standards to total, feelings of betrayal from deep to furious. 1/

Question for the hive mind: Are there extra steps you recommend to help ensure that Prolific participants are real (i.e., not bots)? I’ve thought about adding a very complex math problem with a <1 second response window, filtering out those who get it right. But I suspect this isn’t ideal.

The sky is not falling; high-quality platforms (Prolific, Verasight, CR Connect) have low rates of apparent bots. osf.io/preprints/ps... But also not zero; vigilance is very much needed!
