Sometimes, even when you really like someone your dynamic just isn't right for a romance. And that's ok! But it's not always easy going from LIKING someone to liking someone, y'know? Lisa Laman is here to help you navigate transitioning from dating to friendship: www.scarleteen.com/read/relat...

A black and white Polaroid of two young women smiling at the camera against a teal background. The young woman on the left has her arm around the one on the right, with text: "You dated. It didn't work out. But you still want to be friends! So... how do you do that? Some good advice from Lisa Laman." The bottom of the Polaroid has the Scarleteen logo and tagline: "Queer sex ed for all since 1998!"

At Scarleteen, abortion isn’t something we whisper about or shame. Everyone deserves accurate, nonjudgmental information about their bodies, options, and care. Here are a few resources on supporting someone having an abortion, protecting privacy, and prioritizing safety while getting care.🧵

Everyone deserves the information they need to make informed decisions about their own body. This week, we’re collaborating with Abortion Positivity Project (abortionpositivity.com) to share clear, accurate, and nonjudgmental resources and to help destigmatize abortion.

Today we’re sharing resources on self-managed abortions, why they’re important, and guides on how to find safe abortion care even when the barriers to accessing this care may be overwhelming.🧵

When guys are like “that’s not rape, all my friends have done that,” that’s exactly what we’re talking about. That’s the problem. Rape is so common and unpunished that a guy could casually reveal all his friends are rapists and not see it as a problem.

Abortion is a core tenet of human dignity, freedom, and bodily autonomy. It should be safe, accessible, legal, stigma-free, and affordable for anyone who wants or needs it. This week, we’re collaborating with APP and sharing abortion resources that uphold these values.🧵

This is a reminder that intimacy does not have to disappear during recovery. It may just need more patience, creativity, & honest communication. As Summer puts it, re-learning the ways you enjoy sex while recovering is an opportunity — a chance to become more acquainted with self and our partner(s).

Summer Tao returns to explore what it can look like to adapt sex during recovery, healing, and changing body needs. This piece focuses on listening to your body, adjusting with care, and learning how to name and ask for the support you need. www.scarleteen.com/read/sex-s...

So much of sex ed still skips over queer pleasure and queer dynamics, and dodges the real questions like, how to navigate dysphoria, or safer sex beyond “use condoms.” Not at Scarleteen. Here, we get into all of it. Here’s a few more of our deep dives on queer sex and pleasure: 🧵
