I am always the person that gets hella bug bites no matter what and I've largely made peace with it, but I have two mosquito bites on my FACE and the disrespect is really pissing me off. Not my face you bastards.

Just scanned this for my film project & only remembered we had a copy yesterday as the last monuments were taken down in Richmond. I've never seen this image duplicated before, it is a man standing next to the Lee monument on Monument Ave with tobacco growing on all sides. From Valentine collection.

An image from the Cook Collection at the Valentine Museum in Richmond, shows a Black man in white shirt and hat standing in a field of tobacco with the Lee monument in the background

I'm just gonna keep practicing my Spanish because a party that's competent enough to turn around the trainwreck that is currently the US is not one that can't handle messaging around a twitch streamer. Not serious people!

I appreciate that the city has put in more crosswalks, and many of them are at bus stops, which I imagine makes a lot of sense, but it turns out I personally can't tell for a damn if someone is waiting for the bus or to cross the street.

Whew you know what my digitization professional self is going to have to take a break from this website until there's a new main topic cause the way non-library/archivist people talk about this stuff actually makes me fully insane lol.

The AI trainers destroying rare books do that because it's the fastest, cheapest, and easiest way to digitize, and requires no post-digitization preservation of the physical object, which costs money. It's not any more complicated or nefarious than that.

Same people wondering why folks don't have more kids. Cause they're waiting til they're damn near 40 to start, cause guess what? They got 5 jobs! The shit is not conducive to society. Please don't talk to me stupid about obvious stuff. I will think less of you indefinitely.

Some of my friends are turning into Boomers and it's wack AF. Talking bout some "remember how we had to do it? Hell Alyson, you had 5 jobs!" I do remember! Having 5 jobs majorly sucked ass! Why you want the babies to get it out the mud like that?!? I am not here for it friends. Cut the bullshit.

I’ll be heading back to Springfield soon but I also want to stress something: imagine what it must have been like for a Haitian family in Springfield for the past two years. To live under constant, growing threat like that from the most powerful person on the planet. Imagine what it’s been like for…

Katie Kersh, an immigration lawyer who’s been in Springfield Ohio a lot in the past couple years, tells me just now: “ICE is absolutely everywhere in Springfield. It is very visible.” noticeable ramping up lately. It is going to likely get… worse

And after all the death and destruction we at least had steel, a tangible material good. Now we're getting things like apps that take incorrect notes at the doctor's office cause they can't understand Black folks.

This broke my Yinzer brain. Insane way to talk about the Homestead steel strike. Frick and Carnegie sent *300* shooters for their own men. Three hundred. So hey you should use AI y'all?!? What on Earth are we doing here.

my main issue with ai is that i would personally see a larger ROI if those trillions of dollars were spent on healthcare or public transit or schools or road repairs or SNAP or free childcare or free school lunches or EV charging stations or public libraries or housing or clean energy or broadband

⭐ BOOK ⭐ The Tiny Angry Witch has got a book of magic - but when you’re tiny, turning the pages can be tricky… This is our longest video so far. Stop-motion animation, made with models, props, and patience! Written, built, animated, voiced, and scored by 4 x people (and 1 x Witch)

In Mad Mex and a waitress just came in for her shift in the pouring rain and said "damn y'all why is it always raining here? This ain't the Amazon rainforest!" She and I are spiritually aligned right now. God, this ain't the Amazon rainforest. Please stop.

I think an overlooked aspect of millennial partying is that there were a bajillion of us. Stuff like teen nightclubs made a ton of money, it wasn't all 'let's do things for the kids.' We're Boomers 2.0. Capitalism was laser focused on us for a very long time.
