📃Preprint alert @biorxivpreprint.bsky.social. Does your 2026 involve ICV injection of AAVs 🧠? If so, this study led by Luke is for you. "Adeno-associated viruses (AAVs) induce dose-dependent neonatal ventriculomegaly following intracerebroventricular administration" www.biorxiv.org/content/10.6...
Dose is key🗝️. Higher doses of AAV (1uL of 4 x 10^12 GC/mL) consistently induced ventriculomegaly and permissive tropism in neonates, while moderate doses (1uL of 1 x 10^12 GC/mL) did not. Study led by Luke Liu, with true collaborative effort with Ania Noguera, Ryan Humphries, and Blake Zhou.
Such a joy to celebrate with this group! Happy holidays from our lab to yours! 🧠☃️

“NIH produces an astounding return on investment to the American taxpayer. In Fiscal Year 2022, NIH research funding supported 568,585 jobs and generated $96.84 billion in economic activity — that’s $2.64 of economic activity for every $1 of research funding.” www.researchamerica.org/2023-oped-us...
Research supported by NIH has led more than 100 Nobel Prizes and has supported more than 99% of drugs approved by federal regulators from 2010 to 2019. But come January, NIH may face a wrecking ball nytimes.com/2024/12/01/h...
