The thing I love about the song "Bleed American" by Jimmy Eat World is the way it seems to begin in medias res. It feels like you just tuned on and they've already been playing for like a minute and a half
Interesting strategy to help me process a recent celebrity death by reminding me of one I never got over.
Anyway world, you owe us. You fucking owe us. We want payment NOW.
We had watched Clue a few months ago with a random ending, and said we'd watch it again later. Seems like the time has come.
I was just talking to a friend today about Dolly Parton's Imagination Library - new books every month, totally for free, for kids ages 1-5. My son was part of the program - this is a copy of the letter that came with his last book, right after his 5th birthday.
What Dolly Parton did for Children's Literacy was unequalled. The world is poorer today.

Can't sleep so I've been sitting up for 1.5 hours looking at Facebook. What a bleak state of affairs. I should have been eating cereal and watching wrestling.
The guy really sang "And it's a wonder men can eat at all, when things are big that should be small" and meant it

My wife, watching a reel: "What is this music from that's making me cry?" (It was Laura Palmer's theme from Twin Peaks)
A thought that somewhat nags at me is the fact that history will remember *maybe* 1% of the crazy, terrible and damaging nonsense and bullshit spewed by the Trump Administration. There simply isn't capacity to record it all for posterity. People will forget.
It's like one of those old Fatal Farm videos but real

HALF NELSON was a 1985 Joe Pesci TV series that was cancelled after 9 episodes, but its intro seems to last forever via an escalating cavalcade of absurd cast reveals, underscored by a theme song that feels like a gag gift when you can't license "I Love L.A."...
It's mostly going to be covered like a normal television show and that will be really depressing but if you have the power to remind people their little treat comes dripping with blood you must do so.
Up at 2 AM thinking I probably should have asked if that coffee I had 8 hours ago was decaf... 🤔
John Cleese once said you can't make comedy without being nasty, but if you look at the scoreboard there's like 6 hours of Fawlty Towers and like 120 hours of shows created by Michael Schur so it actually seems to be a lot harder to make comedy with nastiness than without
I heard recently that Bill Murray only saw one episode of Seinfeld and it was the last one, which probably sucks if you're Brian Doyle-Murray, who was in one of the best episodes
The purpose of this account is to put good music in peoples' timelines by posting a broad, deep selection of tunes from across genres and eras. Songs are often just whatever I happen to be thinking of or heard out in the world. Enjoy!
