Point taken Andrew, but my study of the Hansard from 2024 onwards is a clear record of how Winston Peters, far more than any other MP, is responsible for the decline in the standards of the House, which ironically he so often decries. The Speaker appears to be complicit in enabling this. #nzpol

This policy would directly lead to physical abuse of disabled and neurodivergent children. Tell your friends. I'm absolutely serious.
ACT candidate Paul Henry unveils plan to let teachers use 'reasonable force' on 'little shits'
Hey teacher/educator Bluesky... this sort of cryptograph puzzle has worked out to be a big hit for Mr 6. Does anyone have any pre-made that I could borrow?
If the people you are paying to write a curriculum need to use "AI tools" to "check and generate content", you are paying the wrong people and you should actually not have dumped the people who are capable of these core tasks.

This should be bigger news than, say, National's ghost paid parental leave. #nzpol
And Simeon Brown has quietly changed the elective surgery waiting time in NZ from 4 months to 12 months for a specialist appointment. Share it. If your GP sends a waiting list referral you get the Xray, then a letter advising of 12 month wait to see a Specialist.
Everye projectioun of the future ys a storye. And so the fate of the worlde doth depende on the study of storyes: how thei are made, how thei worke, what thei do, & how thei connect to cultures and ydeas. Let everyone learne these skills. Funde educacioun yn the humanityes & the HEART disciplines.
So apparently you are unable to access a needs assessment if your qualifying condition was diagnosed via telehealth, which means that even though I just paid $700 for the only form of diagnosis I could afford and access, and even through it found me to be autistic, I cannot get help.
Hi, my name is Scout. I am autistic and ADHD. For real. On paper. For the rest of my life. I was right.
I didn't think this was controversial but a basic need of everyone living in NZ is, in fact, to be aware of natural hazards around you and have plans for your household or workplace in the event that there is an emergency and comms don't work. Don't expect to be able to load the website after AF8.
I think my whole life is just filling in forms, calming small walking terrors, and re-making the cereal that wasn't "correct" at this point
Jeeeez that spooked me! (Thought the first wave was a kid getting out of bed!) #eqnz
A drawing today about the recent passing of actor and gentle man Sam Neill (and his duck Charlie Pickering), and I guess about the landscape he loved.

I have an extra 6 year old for the next 10.5 weeks. He's super into Hot Wheels and we just don't have anything for them to drive on. Does anyone in Dunedin have any Hot Wheels tracks needing love that they might be open to passing along? We are making do with a track he has drawn on cardboard.
Did you know my cat is being starved? She receives the same prescribed quantity of her $98/bag vet dictated food every morning and night and has done for 5 months straight. But she is being starved.
New Zealand, 7 years ago: they are us. New Zealand, now: let’s invite a person that’s responsible for mass murdering of Muslims! Yay! Trade! Yay yay yay!
Being sick, stuck at home, reducing work hours... You start to feel so invisible. Kindness isn't something we perform for a grade or for recognition, and I expect nothing in return when I do. But there's something in the invisibility.
Saw this ad for a goat on Facebook. It’s perhaps the greatest advert I’ve ever read. It’s just superb.
Do I know any family lawyers in Christchurch who could do a low to no fee will for a friend needing to make an urgent emergency plan for her kid? I've not offered to the friend just yet, I want a plan to roll out to her first.
Got a really pleasant surprise today - while I'd have liked to know it was confirmed to be starting so I could prepare my autistic kōtiro for it, we had our new support worker start this morning! What a relief to finally be able to access this portion of disability funding after years trying.
*taps microphone* Is this thing on?? I AM LOOKING FOR SCIENCE HISTORIANS. IF THAT IS YOU PLEASE WAVE AT ME OR YELL LOUDLY IN MY DIRECTION! (It's for a wee little side project)
Farewelling our beloved deputy principal and SENCO today... the school hall is full of balloons and I watched several kids come into her office this morning to tell her how missed she will be. Gonna be an emotional day, I know my girl's feeling it 🫶🏼
I've been reading the Code of Welfare for Llamas and Alpacas. It's secondary legislation which means the gender bill will change it. Did you know that we should be placing *adult human biological* females in hill paddocks just before they give birth? www.mpi.govt.nz/dmsdocument/...

And you may find yourself behind the wheel of a large automobile And you may find yourself in a beautiful house, with a beautiful wife And you may ask yourself, "Well, how did I get here?"
I didn't miss something, right? Hipkins is drawing a line in the sand with the Greens saying he doesn't want to work with them at all if they try pushing their wealth tax, but he hasn't done the same on working with NZF over trans rights?
1000 people is HUGE in Ōtepoti. What a massive success! It's really clear that this gender bill is not a popular one. My conservative voting father came to his second protest in his life (the first was my first ever marriage equality rally) for this one, it was special. www.odt.co.nz/news/dunedin...

Dr Ben said she was "outraged" and that many of her colleagues locally and nationally were angry at this unprecedented move by a health minister. "Cultural safety does say, look at your own biases, I wonder if the minister needs to look at his," #nzpol
