DHL have been expelled from the League of Useless Bastards. League members may be useless bastards, but they're not as bloody useless as DHL. (DHL had a delivery **on a van for delivery in the next hour** that they just claimed had the wrong address. Now I have to wait in all of tomorrow.)

Welp, there goes our attempt to foster water-conserving long grass: we just got hit with a Toronto s.489-3.3.A order to comply. Gotta cut everything down to less than 20 cm by Saturday. Bet it was our neighbour's lawn guy who grassed on us. Was always "offering to help" ...

At a matinee of How to Train Your Dragon, a group of maybe 20 6-year-olds was a couple of rows in front of me. At the jump-scare scene, there was a mass high-pitched shriek, all the popcorn and most of the soda went in the air, and the kids all hid behind the seats. Small heads slowly popped up ...

Got me thinking.. What's the strongest reaction you've seen an audience member have to a scene in a cinema? During the birthday party scene in SIGNS I saw a whole row of young women literally throw their popcorn in the air like a cartoon.

As mysteriously as they disappeared, the frozen cranberries are back. I wish the same could be said for oatcakes. All I can find is Orkney oatcakes, which aren't safe near me. (For rest-of-the-worlders, oatcakes may look too much like cork coasters, but for this Scot, they're manna)
