Writing about fashion. Writing about other things. Zoë not Zelda. She/her.

Had a doctor's appointment today (not a big deal) and had to get some bloodwork done after, but the phlebotomist I usually see wasn't there. Anyway, I had to get poked three times like a human pincushion.

As someone who went to girls' school, discussing eating disorders is generally awful. My first year there at ten we sat through a surprisingly in-depth assembly about them. It was scarring but also informative.

Thinking again about why no-fault divorce is so important. But am also thinking about how custody agreements decided by family court can leave an abused partner in an awful situation.

every woman has wondered whether her dad would take her side or some man's. many of them have learned the answer and often it's not the answer that you'd assume would be the bare minimum expectation for a father

Should the congressman who is credibly accused of beating and throwing scalding water at your own daughter run for re-election? “I don’t know,” says GOP Senator Bernie Moreno www.notus.org/ohio/bernie-...

After three days that took place over nearly two months and two jury selection processes, I'm finally done with jury service for at least the next year. I always end up in the first block of jurors going through voir dire somehow. Lol.

Is The Odyssey (2026) my favorite adaptation of the original text? No, that's a tie between Inside Llewyn Davis and an episode of Wishbone. But it was good, big fun. The rampage scene was so satisfying.

Me watching The Fellowship of the Ring in 2001: "It must be so painful for Boromir to die by arrow." Me watching The Odyssey in 2026: "I hope that 'suitor' chokes on his own blood after Odysseus sent an arrow into his throat."

Oh, the Vista showed the trailer for Troy (2004) before The Odyssey and there was a lot of laughter. I did laugh even though I saw that movie in theaters when I was studying abroad in London.

It's been so long since I've read The Odyssey that I occasionally thought about certain characters in the movie "I know I hate you, but I can't remember why" before being reminded. Basically Agamemnon deserved every single bit of that smoke.
