Trump may disagree with Pirro, but there are apparently limits to how much she’s willing to lie to propagate his narrative. If DOJ had any evidence, even circumstantial, they would be charging people.

They ought to review the motion practice in the Comey case. Regardless of their views of Comey, Blanche’s conduct in pursuing that frivolous, vindictive and selective prosecution required numerous violations of the Constitution and the rule of law. @chrisgeidner.bsky.social is all over this.

This is a winning motion. The facts revealed should be more than enough to end a presidency in a functioning democracy. Gone too would be the federal prosecutors and agents whose careers should end for participating in this charade of a case. All to fulfill a madman’s revenge fantasies. Brutal.

Comey, Jr., by and through undersigned counsel, and pursuant to Federal Rule of Criminal Procedure 12(b), moves this Court to dismiss the indictment. As explained in the accompanying Memorandum, the government has singled out Mr. Comey for prosecution because of his protected speech and because of President Trump’s personal animus toward him. Such a vindictive and selective prosecution violates the First Amendment, Due Process Clause, and equal protection principles. The proper remedy for this unconstitutional prosecution is dismissal with prejudice. But at the very least, the Court should order discovery and an evidentiary hearing and require the government to establish that it has a legitimate basis for this prosecution.

WOW. The Trump admin just barred the FBI from investigating cases where DHS officers get into confrontations with immigrants or citizens. ICE HSI will lead all investigations, yet HSI has no jurisdiction to investigate civil rights violations. The fox is guarding the henhouse.

WOW. The ex-wife of the ICE officer who shot a 26-year-old Colombian man in Maine has come forward to say that he had mental health issues and was abusive in their relationship. She says after the shooting he called asking her to vouch for him — instead, she went to the press.

Ashley Brouillette told the Portland Press Herald in a phone interview Thursday afternoon that her ex-husband called admitting to the shooting and defending his actions. The Press Herald reviewed a screenshot of incoming calls Ashley Brouillette received from her ex-husband’s current wife’s Facebook account on Wednesday. “He was asking me to lie for him and to cover for his character,” Ashley Brouillette said. “I told him that I was not going to lie for him. And then he tried to say that it was a justified shooting because the guy tried to hit him with his car.” She said she has seen videos of Brouillette on the scene of the shooting and confirmed that was him on scene, telling him: “nowhere in there does it show that this man charged at you with a car.” “In his head it’s justified. He’s unusually calm about it,” she said.Ashley Brouillette told a reporter that she wanted to speak publicly because she had previously reported concerns to his superiors in the military about his mental health. She said he was abusive in their relationship. She said that she’s been inundated with calls, since reports of Brouillette’s involvement began circulating online, threatening her and her family.

The federal immigration agent who shot and killed a 26-year-old Colombian man in Biddeford has been identified as David Michael Brouillette. Brouillette, who is 37 and lives in Manchester, was identified by an ex-wife as the ICE agent who shot Johan Sebastián Durán Guerrero.
