Just an ordinary sunrise at Lake Bled #slovenia Not really - it was one of the most incredible moments I've experienced as a landscape photographer! And this was taken on January 1st - being the only person at this viewpoint. It cured my hangover :D #winter #landscapephotography #winterfairytale

Colorful layered, water sculpted sandstone in the Nevada desert taken back in 2011.
Croatian Gold. I stumbled upon this scene while climbing a mountaintop in Velebit range in Croatia. No tripod, a handheld bracketed shot, then rushing up the mountain to reach it before sunset. A lucky find. #croatia #landscapephotography #hrvatska #mountains
Fall color and falling water goodness from Ohiopyle State Park, Pennsylvania, which actually is isn't far from Frank Lloyd Wright's famous Fallingwater House.
Backlit autumn desert foliage at sunrise in the Owens River Valley, California.
Fun with clouds, waves and light at the Lime Kiln Lighthouse on San Juan Island. April 2023.
I’ve photographed this Eastern Sierra aspen grove in every season, but November revealed something new. With the leaves gone and no snow yet, the frosty brush glowed purple—a color I’d never seen here before. Whether real or a mix of red branches and blue shadows, it was beautiful to see.
The first rays of the day illuminate late autumn foliage in the Owens River Valley, California.

Wonderful Winter Collection Harsh and cold winters make it hard to step outside, but when I witness a scene like this, I feel so exhilarated that I forget about the cold entirely.
It’s been really fun finding photography that I haven’t seen before. How is this the first time I’ve seen @spranz.org’s work?

Mountains in the Dolomites lurking in the clouds after a snowstorm.
A couple of weeks ago, I spent a wonderful morning with the Photo Cascadia crew at the Hot Creek geothermal area in the Eastern Sierra. I’ve photographed this spot many times, but I think this was my favorite light yet. If you’re not familiar with Photo Cascadia, check us out: www.photocascadia.com
Ponderosa pine and freshly fallen snow at dawn. Taken at a lake in the mountains near my home in southern Oregon a couple of winters ago.
