Environmentally conscious, dad of 1. Wondering what future we're leaving for our kids

A weather model suggests temperatures of almost 50 degrees are possible in France. Anyone who claims there is no climate change, who disparages science in this field, or who denies that human activity is the cause, is making a statement that has nothing to do with reality #ClimateEmergency #FarRight

When the story of why humanity didn't stop climate change is written, it will feature front pages like this. Even as the skies blacken with climate change-induced wildfires, right wing media continue their relentless crusade against measures to tackle it.

The Times: Net zero risks blackouts. Below a photo of French wildfires.

The UK will not have enough water for future datacentres. England faces 5bn litre a day shortfall for public water supplies. A trillion litres of water a year lost to leaks. Widespread hosepipe bans. No national grid for water. Poor infrastructure. No national plan.

No science fiction could have prepared us for just how stupid the end of the world can be. "The environment was on the brink of collapse, and so, rather than deal with that, we burned what fuel we had left getting computers to scam each other for money."

The simple fact is that how we get our food is by far and away the main cause of nature loss worldwide, whether it's turning natural habitat into livestock pasture, flushing poultry excrement into rivers, sieving the seas for marine wildlife, or whatever else. We can't fix it while ignoring this.

Precision fermentation could radically transform our food system — without radically transforming what foods we eat. That's why we're teaming up with @georgemonbiot.bsky.social to make a short film about it, and we need your help to make it happen. ⬇️🐄❌ www.gofundme.com/f/no-cows-ne...

MAGA is trying to claim, “but the border is closed!” as if it's some counter argument. Screwworm flies have wings hence why prevention efforts were located in Central America and Mexico. DOGE teenagers eliminated those programs thinking it was fraud. And now we suffer from MAGA beliefs.
