So the shooting happened in the most policed, most video surveilled spot in Seattle. It's almost as if more cops and more surveillance don't make us safer.

The Wikimedia foundation has hired the largest union busting firm in america, Littler Mendelson, to fight its unionizing workers. Even "good companies" like the one behind Wikipedia will choose to fight their workers if they present a threat to their profits and business operations.

Chad Loder@chadloder.dev · 2mo agoThe diarrhea lettuce company, Taylor Farms, uses slave labor contracted from the Arizona Dept. of Corrections. The backbreaking labor is often performed by imprisoned Mexican nationals who would be otherwise ineligble to work in the US. They are paid $1.50 an hour.
