Yes, exactly. When a windstorm causes a downed wire that then starts a fire, we still call it "human caused". This is the correct clarification, because the only other option is lightning. But unfortunately many people think it means there's a load of irresponsible people running about with matches.

Fire season is a good time to remember our farming roots. We all rely on farmed food. Most farmers I know of (I'm a teacher) have loads of fire fighting equipment, knowledge and expertise, because of course they do. Many are current or former volunteer firefighters.

I've lived rural/remote for 20 yrs now. Fires start in storms, not just from lightning (I've seen a lone tree in flames after being struck, thankfully in winter). Trees fall on power lines in storms, usually causing power outages, but sometimes they just hang there, sparking.

Agree, we cannot defend against U.S., so why spend 5% of GDP on military? I'm for spending in the 2-3% for national security. Making deals with other nations that are willing to build in Canada is one of the best options - as well as our own development of forward thinking, dual use technology.

We are just making enemies. Nato is not an organization of good will. Nato is not offering peacet on the end of an olive branch. It is a lobby for the US defense industry & an arm of the US's war machine to defend its hegemony I understand that defense items need to be replaced.

And human caused has a lot of different possibilities - someone driving on the highway flicked a cigarette out the window, someone drove their ATV in the bush and the hot tailpipe sparked the dry grass, someone didn't properly put out a fire at their cabin...it's not arson or on purpose.

I wasn't micromanaged when it came to doing the work I was assigned - I had a lot of leeway for managing my desk and the work on it. But since my managers were also practicing lawyers, they were too busy to notice the personnel issues that were ongoing. Our office had the highest caseload in Canada.

Canadians, especially, Carney’s Cult. This is C-12 in action folks. This is only one bill of many that have been passed. The others don’t violate the rights of refugees, they violate yours.

Oh, we weren't in the same boat. Because none of them were entirely ostracised by the rest of the assistants. They were still invited to after work events, girls weekends, that kind of thing. I was always left out. Every single time. It was deliberate.

My work all had court specific deadlines and they tried to keep me assigned to the lawyers who were working on the files I provided the support on but the other assistants started to comment about how I got away with not having to do A, B or C like the rest of them and then they piled on more.

At one point, I had a docket to prep every week - summary conviction, regulatory and project/sentencing - and then had my project work for three different lawyers that included scheduling and preparing materials for special sitting bails. I also then attended court to assist with multimedia.

In 2014, I almost died from blood clots. They only cared if I had enough leave to cover my time off and that I was still available via email if they needed to contact me - I was expected to check my emails daily when on sick leave. They treated me like dirt then wondered why I had mental issues.
