“Well, we’re all workers…These aren’t just things happening on TV. They’re happening at SEA-TAC, at our work. It’s our home, man, and we can do something about it. We have to do something about it.” “If we’re not taking care of our neighbors, then who is going to take care of us?”

4. At the end of the week, the commissioners must agree on a plan. If they do, they get 7 thousand dollars each. If they don't, they are sent home with a warm thank you, and a random seven-year-old pulls a plan from a hat. DONE.

3. Give these seven people (and only them) a month to review the seven plans. Then book them into a nice hotel for seven nights (food and travel included) to discuss the options. People can call in if they don't want to travel.

2: Feed the computer a list of people who have actually shown up at the courthouse for jury duty and ask it to randomize the list. Call these people in order and take the first seven who will volunteer to serve as commissioners.

Senators who fear retaliation are free to resign with a generous pension. (Most don't even need that since they're already old and rich.) Then candidates who are willing to face the dangers of retaliation can step forward. It would only take a handful of resignations to make a difference.
