I have never played a satisfying game of VtM, but I have imagined many. I think that is actually a common experience. The previous editions inspired creativity, and community/players came together around that. I think the recent obsession with gamification and new editions has lost that essence.

You may not be aware, but The Hayseed Knight only crossed into 5,000 sales total two weeks ago. It's been on steam for 5 years and a half (since chapter 3). In the current games market, just because a game looks really good and you've heard about it, doesn't mean it was commercially successful!

It is so sad, I was recommending this game even last week! Now it's "I guess my steam friends will just assume I only play eroge" territory. The "worksafe mode" is in no way work safe!
