Managed to see The Odyssey in the regular IMAX before it’s gone. I think a bigger deal than the aspect ratio is the sound; I don’t think watching it at home will have anywhere near the same impact. Nolan did a brilliant thing working in portions of other stories to give characters time & rationales

I grew up watching old anime: Gundam, Urusei Yatsura, Macross, Orguss, Giant Corg, Vifam, Godmars, Mazinger Z, Dirty Pair, Ideon, Yamato, Goshogun, Captain Harlock, Votoms, etc. What's stunning is that so much of that anime has not only held up well, but I appreciate it even more now that I'm older.

SCREEN Act, which would have required mandatory age-verification for sites (like this) that allow "material harmful to minors" failed to pass out of committee after thousands and thousands of people called their Senators. More work ahead!

Your voice matters and you should feel good that you made a difference. Obviously, the fight isn't over, but this was an important victory.
This is just rank Islamophobia and anti-Arab racism, based on the bigoted idea that there is something inherently scary about a president with the last name "El-Sayed." It is incumbent on all of us to call it out.

I try not to think about how The Dark Knight is a movie from 18 years ago, but a big conflict Batman and Lucius Fox face in that is whether to use everyone’s smartphones as unwitting surveillance tools. This tech is destroyed, as nobody should have such power. That’s not how 2026 superheroes think.
On the way out after Spider-Man I overheard someone saying the story "didn't feel big enough." It almost made me feel envious, this is an opinion you only have if you've just seen like 2-3 of these movies in the last decade and don't ever engage with discourse online

I haven't seen a movie theater so packed on a weeknight in ages. It did mean, however, that I've finally encountered some of those post-COVID bad movie behaviors I've heard about. I'd expected to see people on their phones here and there, but someone kept taking pictures of the screen USING FLASH
