Bottle of wine and the first Smiths album. "And your prejudice won't keep you warm tonight." WELL. Never a truer word spoken, Moz of my youth.

Post boom, second doom. Stealing cake to eat the moon. Writes and edits - Doctor Who, Hammer horror, Sherlock Holmes, Judge Dredd (etc). Available for hire.
Oh, this is sad. Years ago, in Hammer Horror magazine days, I interviewed Justin about his lovely film A Feast at Midnight, which had a terrific role for Christopher Lee as a scary headmaster. Nice man. BBC News - Wicker Man sequel director Justin Hardy dies aged 61 www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

A man could lose himself in London. But fortunately the great Tom Courtenay found his way to a screening of the new restoration of Billy Liar this afternoon.
Front of the queue in Neros. Get my coffee and croissant, go to sit at the nice empty window table... only the person at the back of the queue has dumped their bags there to claim it. I'm sorry, but this is ghastly behaviour, and merits a day in the stocks.
A trailer!

This and the next episode are literally the only two Coronation Streets I have ever seen (I was staying with my Grandma and Grandad in Kentish Town at the time). I suppose it must have made an impression.
Coronation Street - written by H.V. Kershaw (28th July 1980). A drive in the country ends in tragedy.
I wasn’t expecting this to be the new DWM comic, but hey, I’m glad to see where this goes I wonder if after this ends they’ll jump around the various Doctors and give them their own arcs That would be interesting
Never mind Doctor Who and Blake's 7, give us a Steptoe Blu-ray Collection with all of the extra sketches, you BBC cowards.
The Ken Dodd Show (24th July 1966). Steptoe and Son at the seaside.
Picked up the new DWM, and I am very pleased with what they are doing with the comic strip, liking this @senrabnala.bsky.social, going to enjoy following where this goes.
And rattling on the roof I must have heard the sound of rain. (If you go for the sinister Nordic noir interpretation...)
Just booked for Bartok's Music for Strings, Percussion and Celeste at the Proms in September. #yeti #sillyoldgoat
Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer. I later discovered everyone else I was with had wanted to leave too, but didn't want to spoil the night either. Also 32 Short Films About Glenn Gould. 3 Interminable Hours of Plinky Plonk Piano, more like. I was wishing Henry would come and end it all halfway.

Here are what the young people call the "deets" for Haunted Windmill. Very happy with all three of this stories.

Incredibly, I find myself in a bar with the foopball on. Every couple of minutes I'm going OHHHHH just to fit in
The family of Justin Richards are very touched by what people said about him this week. For those who wish to donate in his memory, they suggest Read for Good, a charity that works to get children reading, just as Justin strived to do with his writing. readforgood.enthuse.com/JustinRichar...
It's impossibly sad that we've lost the best of men in Justin. Lovely in person, a pleasure to work with and a joy to read (Theatre of War, System Shock and Grave Matter leap to mind, but I never read one that didn't thrill and delight). My condolences to his family, and closest friends.
The Big Finish team were deeply saddened and shocked to learn of the passing of our friend and colleague, Justin Richards, who died peacefully at the weekend. Our sincere condolences go out to his family and friends. A full tribute will follow.
Total ban on people eating fried eggs indoors. Make them take their antisocial stench outside, like smokers. That'll learn them.
They've finally run out of toffs to stand as PM, your name has been pulled from the hat, what's your one (1) manifesto pledge? Let's assume UBI, PR & tax/eat the rich are standard. I want your petty policies, your extremely personal grudges, your old man yells at cloud laws
Sorry to hear the fantasy artist known as simply Emmanuel has passed away. And while the name might not be immediately familiar a lot of you will recognise these icon covers he did
Almost as if, since Brexit, every Prime minister's premiership has been a Kobayashi Maru test. There's no way to win, "It's a test of character."
Yes. IN THE NAME OF ALL THAT'S HOLY, STOP USING "TO FEEDBACK" LIKE A VERB.
Clearing out the freezer, thought this pie would be past its best but incredibly it's got 3070 years to go. Isn't food technology marvellous?
Can't help but be amused by the sight of people fulminating against a social media ban on just about the only platform they're not bothering with, because there are so few people on it. Seriously, no-one's listening! Bluesky is totally irrelevant, it might as well be a Yahoo group.
It's a difficult time, so if you absolutely must post about foopball, please hashtag it as a courtesy to those of us who find foopball the dullest thing on Earth. #foopball
By the same logic, I demand to be made the England football manager IMMEDIATELY, because only someone with *no interest whatsoever* in the tedious business of kicking a ball about a field can be trusted with the job. I've never watched a game to the end, so frankly I'm overqualified.
I think people are right that Doctor Who shouldn't be written by fans, like the disastrous Christopher Eccleston season. Instead it should be written by people who hate the series. Just being unfamiliar with it isn't enough. They need to have a violent emetic response to just hearing the theme tune.
At last. And it seems not a moment too soon. What is the secret of the Haunted Windmill?
New Doctor Who incoming! ⚠️ (And I swear on my life the headline to this news story was written months ago...) https://bgfn.sh/hwnews ⚠️
