Libraries make us a harder target for authoritarianism. Equal access to info, ideas, and space that doesn’t require a purchase to belong. Also: using the library means money stays in your community instead of streaming out to Amazon. 📚 What’s checked out on your card right now?

I am listening to the audiobook of R.F. Kuang's Babel and while the main narrator's voice is lovely, nobody told him that Latin isn't pronounced like French and I am feeling a bit like Alcuin upon arrival at the court of Charlemagne.

Yesterday, while at Astoria Food Pantry to check for free COVID tests, I noticed on the wall this handmade sign listing alternatives to Amazon and businesses/outlets that it (Bezos) controls. It’s good that people know there are other, less problematic options. #MutualAid #CommunityCare #Queens #NYC
