There's PLENTIFUL evidence that Russia interfered in the EU referendum. Most sensible people on both sides accept that as a fact. If Farage can counter this obvious truth then he should present his case to us all rather than grandstanding and lazily calling Burnham a "liar".
Today I'm at RARE Summit, attending remotely with coffee, notebook and pens... Are you attending in person, or remotely like me? I've made time for this because it matters to listen and learn. I can't do the work of community building or consulting without learning from others. #RAREsummit26
If you're anti-fascist, anti-racist and a multitasker, I recommend sliding over to the RNLI's online shop to pick up some early Christmas gifts and kick against racist attacks of this brilliant organisation at the same time. The jumper is for me. It's gorgeously soft. shop.rnli.org
This is a tragedy. Jobs for younger people in general as well as graduates simply don't exist
Number crunching: Graduate vacancies From the new Private Eye, out now.
Most discussions about “misinformation” treat the problem as if people simply don’t have good enough critical-thinking skills. It sounds intuitive, but it’s not entirely accurate. The problem isn’t just individual ignorance, it’s the structure of the information environment people are placed into.
Finland has emerged as a global leader in countering “fake news”. Here's how they've done it
No matter what your feelings are on AI, I strongly recommend learning about the HuggingFace agent swarm incident to have an idea of current threat levels. Hard Fork is always great and has a recent ep on it: podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/h...

Are you building a community of circumstance without realising it? Communities of circumstance are for people who need a place to connect because life happened in ways they didn't choose. I developed that definition because I couldn't find a working definition anywhere. 1/3

Still seeing jobs in the charity sector that 'reserve the right to close applications early' That's likely to lead to indirect discrimination against people with chronic illnesses, parents, caregivers, and people with long commutes or long work hours. Give. People. Time. Make. Recruitment. Fair.

Which is why the age of billionaire owned centralised social media must end

This is not misinformation. That's what I normally cover - something out of context, an opinion quoted as fact, or a deliberate misinterpretation... This is none of those. This is full-on disinformation. Because that is NOT from the Express. It is entirely fake😱 🧵 1/10
Hearing some disappointing examples of distant and uncaring, toxic and unpleasant, or controlling and nitpicking management styles in the charity sector at the moment. It takes time and effort to manage in a constructive and situational way. But the alternatives will hurt you and your team.
Twice this week, the water butt has been refilled by the rain showers. So we're now playing the game of using the water ahead of the next shower to avoid damp. And watching to see if the grass is actually returning to it's usual soft green state. This is summer #ukweather that I'm used to!
If you only read one article about Jason Arday, let it be this one. And let's stop talking about Arday (aside from tributes, support and calls to correct the record) and start talking about Nathan Cofnas and the agenda that led to this horrible situation.
NEW: It was a digital lynching. And the media is never going to hold itself to account for the role it played in Jason Arday’s death. But there are things we can do. This is a practical guide based on my own experience. broligarchy.substack.com/p/a-digital-...
The age of centralised social media had us convinced that constant growth and the whole world in one big public square was the goal. In the end, that and monetization (and political weaponisation) led to the mess that Facebook and Twitter are now in. Bluesky needs to be viable, not massive.
Developers backed by American asset managers want to dredge up Falmouth harbour, spilling toxic chemicals into local waterways, just so mega cruise ships can drop off tourists who barely visit the local area. STOP THE DREDGE graceblakeley.substack.com/p/the-dredge...

This is a new era of midlife for me - becoming obsessed with the sweet mustard ketchup and pickle relish pots used in recent Gousto meals, then tracking down the supplier to order them direct. Tracklements have limited retail reach but a website to order direct. Success!
So, I went out with the dog for a walk. It rained. A couple of weeks later, I put the washing out. It rained. We need rain! Perhaps I should arrange a picnic with friends to bring on another spell of rain...
In another hot week, this will be relief to my ears!
Some cooling quiet for another hot day. 🎧 Episode 130 - Dartmoor stream above waterfall gorge (35 mins) A river on the edge of Dartmoor in July. Just the trickling of the water and the wildlife in this wild place.
Yes my jacket is wet and the dog had to be towel dried after coming home early, but I'm happy. It's raining, and it's been raining for more than 15 minutes now. Willing it to be in Dulwich and wetting down the forest and coastal marrams. It's tinder dry here and that's dangerous.
63 grass fires in one day. That's the challenge London's firefighters faced yesterday. My thanks goes out to them for all their hard work. We all have a part to play in reducing that risk. Keep sparks, cigarettes and anything hot well away from dry grass. If you spot a fire, call 999.
