These are a few of the places that inspired the illustration. The hills feel so small and distant in photographs, but that's never how they feel to me, I wanted to depict their presence more closely to my own perception of them.

This place is real, but it's also an amalgamation of memories. The way we remember a landscape can be very different from its literal appearance. Some things become larger and clearer, others smaller and fuzzier. 🧵
