Many-hat wearer, roller robot, and Apple design evangelist. On social media these days mostly to help the Apple developer community, geek out about interactive storytelling and experience design, and say hi to friends. And write. Writing’s good too.
Been at @sxsw.com less than six hours and already having so many good conversations about Vision Pro and immersive storytelling. So many pieces in the XR showcase I want to see, never enough time. 😅
SO excited about this session: @patrickmullen.bsky.social, Rose Thomas, and I will be @sxsw.com on March 11 at 10am CT to share some best practices for creating interactive stories on Apple Vision Pro! Hope to see folks there 🎉 schedule.sxsw.com/2025/events/...

PSA to my friends in California near the fires: breathing in wildfire smoke is really bad for you (even if it’s not super thick where you are) but if you have face masks (N95, KN95, etc) those can help a lot
Last week was the wrong week for me to read Parable of the Sower.
Really excited about this one. Are you a creative technologist, director, designer, 3D artist, or writer who makes interactive or immersive stories (or do you want to)? You should apply for our event on February 27 in Cupertino. (Or check out the live stream!) developer.apple.com/events/view/...

At some point, if all goes well, you stop taking pride in arcane knowledge about niche topics and you start taking pleasure in sharing your passion with as many people who are obviously interested as possible. Our time here to learn and live is brutally short. Don't keep gates. Hold them open. Wide.
Hanging out at the Developer Center today for our “Create great apps for visionOS” event 👋🏻 Say hi if you’re here in person or registered and watching on the stream!
Mildly obsessed with the fake humans IKEA designers create for their spaces. This poor writer is having a c r i s i s (also let’s be real, the post-its are gonna be all over the wall at this point)
The recipe for soda bread from a well-established Irish chef casually includes the instruction to cut a cross on it "to let the fairies out", because there's only two things people correctly fear on this island: open slurry pits, and angering the Aos Sí
Microblogging in 2024: rewriting seventeen drafts of a post in quick succession while my cat demands one of my hands leave the phone to pet her. (She was successful.)
HOW am I just finding out that Ryan Gosling recorded a spooky folk album in 2009… and it’s EXCELLENT?! (Hat tip to @lauraehall.bsky.social, whose excellent newsletter 31 Days of Halloween is giving me life this season) music.apple.com/us/album/los...

remake of citizen kane where he writes a whiny op-ed that's like "why the integrity of journalism demands that we must write a good review of susan alexander's singing."
Calling art “content” is like calling your pets “meat.” It’s technically correct, I guess, but it’s real reductive and kinda gross.
Hey friends: did you know our first visionOS labs open *Monday* in Cupertino? Be one of the first to spend a day with Vision Pro, test your app, and get help from our engineers. Applications for next week close TONIGHT — don’t miss out! https://developer.apple.com/events/view/UF88MD77U3/dashboard
a thing i really love about the bluesky migration is instead of trying to import contacts, it has successfully recreated the feeling of trying to find your friends after a natural disaster, with a severely cracked phone screen.
I’ve been using Twitter for 14 years. Right on time for my social media presence to become an angsty teen running away from home because their parents are making life hell
I’ll come here when I see more people actually interacting with each other but so far that’s mostly mastodon
