I just want to mention: Even if your AI somehow runs locally and you think it's okay, it's still using trained data from a pre-existing dataset which is still full of stolen work. The sheer amount of data gen AI needs is in the hundreds of thousands, you can only get that by scraping

i do often fall in the trap of "my art is BAD" when i look at more skilled artists but i have been trying to refocus that lately into a "but at least i made it" mentality. i made it with my own flawed hands and i can grow and learn because of that!!! there's value in that in today's world.

The “best” thing about genAI (the quotes are doing heavy work here) is that it’s really lowered the bar on getting into hand-made art. Literally anything you make is better than ai. There’s never been a better time to throw away your fear and start learning that craft you’ve always wanted to learn.
