Also I understand this is awful for many reasons but this interface has me low-key saying RETVRN. (You cannot imagine how many legal tech websites I look at every day that look all the same by which I mean beige and blue and skinny serif fonts. blah)
yeah, I believe it and to give you an idea of some of the horrors I‘ve learned about gov owned Justice tech, one of my first thoughts was “well at least it has a GUI…”

This is not a joke. This is a screenshot of the actual case management software used by Massachusetts' 11 District Attorneys. Must-read work here by @nasser.wiki nasser.blog/dial-up-just...
Miami University: All academic departments at Miami to integrate artificial intelligence into the curriculum by 2027-2028 "If it's this embedded in the world, then it needs to be embedded in the learning and in the coursework" miamioh.edu/news/2026/08...
VDARE is named for Virginia Dare, who was the first white child born in N. America. But she was born in...the colony of Roanoke. The white people there fucked themselves over by being dicks to locals and either died out or joined them, so it never understood naming a white supremacist org after her
The prep isn't as bad as it used to be -- pills, not the drink -- and you'll have one, uh, busy evening and then you go in and get the greatest nap of your life and then eat a glorious meal. Get yourself checked out.
Well, I am of colonoscopy age now and I got my first-ever one yesterday. The prep wasn't fun but not as awful as I'd imagined. My appt was at 6am on Monday, I was home just after 7am. There's no recovery except catching up on the sleep you missed. So, if you need a nudge to get yours, this is it!
Legal tech edition! Shepardizing in print? Discovery by having associates sorting semi trailers full of boxes of paper? Paper boilerplate files in actual filing cabinets? Fuck that, living in the future is pretty great.
Food, man. Food is so much better than it was in 1986. All of it. Poor-people food, restaurant food, fresh food, frozen food. Food is just a hell of a lot better.
so what's the next primary that everyone is going to be freaking out about now that Michigan is done?
I could be mistaken, but it does not appear that the principals of the Burke Law Group have thought through the professional-responsibility-related risks of undertaking this contract.
In addition to having no experience in immigration, their website shows Ilya Shapiro (!) and disgraced former law prof Joshua Wright (!) as Senior Counsel. I don't think this massive contract was awarded to give immigrant children effective, zealous advocacy. burkegroup.law/our-team/
So FYI, the ABA is a federation of units. The initial rule was done by the Legal Ed Section leadership, or just about 20 people. www.americanbar.org/groups/legal... The vote below was by House of Delegates, which is main governing body. See 801-803 for text www.americanbar.org/content/dam/...
Council of the ABA Section of Legal Education and Admissions to the Bar
The Section's Councl provide leadership and services to those involved in legal education and admissions to the bar. The Council is the national accrediting body for American legal education.

"A plan to eliminate the American Bar Association’s longstanding DEI requirement for law schools hit a snag Tuesday when the organization’s policy-making body rejected the change — a move that could escalate tensions between the ABA and U.S. President Donald Trump's administration."
hell yes mashable.com/life/myspace... but only if I can mod the background with HTML and blast music at people that visit my profile.
Is Myspace coming back? Owners confirm relaunch plans
The platform’s owners say it will return. Online, users are debating whether Myspace can recreate its old appeal in the current social media landscape.

Jefferson said about the US relationship to slavery "We have the wolf by the ear, and we can neither hold him, nor safely let him go." and I've been thinking of that a lot when it comes to mainline GOP and their MAGA/Groyper/NeoNazi pipeline. well what can you do...
Party that spent the last decade grooming and funding and encouraging blind nazi ideologues to run for office and government positions : uh oh
The reliance on AAU and the Yale/Vanderbilt reports shows that the administration (or at least McMahon) still cares about the imprimatur of academic support for policies most academics oppose. They are also pushing this now because they know such policies won't be tenable in 2028.
the department of education today issued a 'national call to action' - which, in plain english, is a call for capitulation to trump administration's assault on higher ed. www.ed.gov/media/docume... note how this doc deploys recent yale & vanderbilt reports
A friendly reminder: If you're a law prof who teaches Civ Pro, now is a great time to buy (or ask your library to buy) a couple of copies of Tag! The Jurisdiction Game. If you're a law prof who doesn't teach Civ Pro, now is a great time to tell your colleagues who do about Tag!

People in this country used to be afraid of announcing to the world that they were stone-cold idiots who shouldn't be allowed behind the wheel of a car. Now they're out here bragging about how dumb they are.
The whole Mariners' pen believes Babe Ruth didn't exist. Kinda want all MLB players to believe this and make the owners agree to it in next CBA
I don't follow the WNBA - although my Threads feeds are always filled discussions about it which are equal parts social justice, ball, and sapphic intrigue. I did NOT realize when I saw this yesterday that this is the coach of the team that played against Sophie Cunnigham's transphobic ass. Werk.
Cheryl Reeve today with the Lynx vs Fever game ❤️🏳️⚧️
I think what pisses me off most about the constant Dem fundraising spam is what a BUMMER all the openers are. "This is bad news, Gwen," "we're in trouble, Gwen" Yeah well no wonder, everything I get from you is about how you're fucked and no one gets excited about sinking ships
No one ever had to spend $175M on librarian misconduct settlements Not even when we drank that Dallas bar out of tequila
we're on pace to spend something like 5x the total public library budget on misconduct settlements alone. do we think that number will go up or down with 1,000 more officers? you cannot propose this kind of stuff and be taken seriously as a "fiscally responsible" candidate
I randomly remembered earlier today that Taylor Swift dated Bobby Kennedy’s son Conor for a hot second.
I’m really enjoying this “make a bouquet of your flowers to enjoy inside” thing I’m doing.
I’m still getting used to the Catholic Church having vocal leadership that doesn’t suck.
Pope Leo embraces his New Orleans family’s roots in slavery www.nola.com/gambit/news/...
I don’t think of myself as old but I’m definitely in my flowy brunch pants and chicos statement necklace stage of life.
Fact check: true. Historically Indiana has been Not Great on many issues but there is a population of people here willing to work for change. My 80+ year old former prison worker neighbor with son who was active military has a No Kings sign in her yard. Shit is getting real.
fb groups were all over this one, and quick. there is a large, loud stirring in Indiana.
This is a repeated talking point on Appalachian IG about data centers too and It’s hilarious. People steal catalytic converters off of school busses, you think they’ll feel a bit of hesitation about stealing from The Man?
this guy gets it
I hate the US law Journal system/cartel/monopoly so freaking bad, you guys…
It really might be true that I will have TWO articles ready for this cycle. Two! In one cycle! And I can't wait for both of them to sit for weeks without a word from any journal.
