My take on the Berlin Film Festival is there are a bunch of spineless cowards taking the stage. Is that about right?

In other words, it doesn't particularly matter whether she knows how to do the boring work of running a TV news network. Her role will be to pick her issues (like, say, Israel) and enforce ideological conformity, with everyone understanding she reports directly to the top.
The notion that Bari will be "running CBS News" is slightly misleading. What the reporting suggests is that Tom Cibrowski, a guy with normal qualifications, will be doing that. Bari will be Emperor Ellison's Vader-esque enforcer, outside the chain of command, intervening at will.

Like so many others, I've been deeply reliant on Watch Duty the last few days, a nonprofit fire wildfire tracking service. I made a donation to their work, because I have no doubt that it has literally saved lives this week. app.watchduty.org

I know I keep screaming this into the void but just because climate change isn’t the *only* factor contributing to an extreme event doesn’t mean it’s not *a* factor. Literally nothing on Earth is unaffected by the changing climate.
as LA is burning, a swath of the country is recovering from an ice storm, Alabama is preparing for up to 6” of snow and I’m praying for the TX power grid, a reminder: we don’t need climate action just for future generations, we need it now. the climate crisis is here, all around us
Praying for LA and areas most effected by these horrific wildfires. My family is safe - air quality is poor where we are but it's nothing compared to horrors faced by those closer to the fires. Praying for all firefighters and first responders fighting the fires.
