I've been thinking a lot about neoconservatives in the age of Trump (shoutout to @davidklion.bsky.social keep grinding on that book) and the impulse to center your politics on opposing an oppressive form of statism ends up making you find your way back to liberalism

This is a pretty good illustration of how to talk about the "Jewishness" of Epstein and some of his network. It's important to do this because antisemitism thrives on the claim that you "aren't allowed" to talk about when Jews in powerful positions commit crimes. Room to go deeper on gender, tho.

I don't think we can shy away from the very real and widespread perception that Epstein was surrounded by other wealthy, powerful Jews. Antisemites have their account of why this is, and everyone can see the basic facts. My piece was an attempt to engage that reality forthrightly and with nuance.

As someone who has (unfortunately) been elbow-deep in Epstein's emails, I can tell you: "Jewish in-group bonds" was not the "currency" Epstein used to facilitate his crimes. It was power, $$, and a deep-seated hatred of women. Any insinuation otherwise is weird. jewishcurrents.org/the-line-bet...
