Canada is preparing to spend tens of billions building a pipeline the oil companies themselves won’t finance. If this project made economic sense, industry would be leading it. Instead, the public is being asked to take the risk while foreign-owned oil companies collect the returns.

Stop the West Coast pipeline. Not even the oil companies are asking for it

Seniors for Climate Action Now! is calling on the Carney government to reject the proposed West Coast oil pipeline, arguing the project has no credible economic, moral, reconciliation, or climate case...

Norway produces more oil than Venezuela. And yet, between January and August 2026, electric vehicles made up 97.8 percent of all new cars sold in that country. Moving to EVs is often based on intelligence, not need. Which is why it lags in the notoriously short-sighted and stupid United States.

By taxing the richest 0.3% of Canadians, some 133,000 people, we could raise $1 billion per year to go towards fixing our broken healthcare system, building affordable housing, or creating a national public grocery network to drive down the cost of groceries. No selling of our airports required.

A new PBO report confirms adding new tax brackets for the wealthiest 0.3% would raise over $1 billion a year. Instead of selling off Canada’s strategic public assets like airports, we should be asking those who have benefited most from our society to contribute their fair share.

Canada’s public infrastructure belongs to Canadians, not the world’s richest CEOs. We won’t let Mark Carney sell off our airports, water systems, highways and more to the highest bidder. The future belongs to the many, not the money. Add your name: ndp.ca/canada-is-not-for-sale

Less potash for the Trump rubes. America is done and as usual, they’ll be the last to know because…. Oh look, football!
