I think the ultimate test of this is actually Boris Johnson. Boris *was fired from his first job* for making up stories, only to go on to be hired into a prestigious role at the Telegraph and spend years lying about the EU at Brussels. And I mean literally lying here; not bad punditry.

He did not hold back. What was unusual was that he took to social media to vent knowing it would attract vile bile. I asked him why.
Unfortunately there's a Karoline Leavitt role in store for this girl.

I guess the lack of a language barrier helps explain it but it’s still quite strange.
