Somebody asked me on Reddit why people who use AI to generate Recomp projects are currently being rejected from the communities and what they can do to fix this. I might tweak parts of this to be a more general blog post at some point, but this should be of help to anyone in a similar situation.

I may not be as colourful as my avatar, but I do have better posture. I'm intending to post a mixture of daily lies, and whatever other stuff - serious or nonsense - comes to my attention. Obviously, my real-world name is a closely-guarded secret.

#gameideas There are many many computer games that ought to be made and haven't been. But making games is expensive, so maybe it would be more cost-effective to combine multiple games into one. Some suggestions: Mario Corsa The Bard's Tales from the Borderlands Full Metal Leisure Suit Grim Persona

Musk calling everyone else NPCs is ironic because I truly cannot think of a more blantantly NPC-coded real-world character class than "Asshat Billionaire"
Whether it's Leona Helmsley's claim that "only the little people pay taxes," or Elon Musk's habit of calling people who disagree with him "NPCs," the whole ideological project of billionaireism is shot through with a kind of solipsism: pluralistic.net/2026/01/05/f... 15/
Are Flat Earthers in favour of climate change or against it? ICBW but I thought they believed the (flat) earth was completely surrounded by the impenetrable ice walls of the antarctic. If the ice melts, we'll be able to escape, right? Is that how it works?
Cedillas need at least two hours exercise every day, or they will eventually become so unfit they can only operate as commas. #dailylie

#GM / game design tip of the day Piggy-backing off a post by @squadronuk.bsky.social considering what to do if you don't like binary results bsky.app/profile/squa..., I mentioned 'jeopardy' as a game design concept. And it looks like that's worth considering in greater depth, #ttrpg 1/9
#TTRPGTHOUGHTS 1 If you don’t like binary results, how do you make the die-rolls “fuzzy”? Just how many “get out of jail free cards” do you provide? Playing D&D & Traveller recently, I’ve found the hard cut-off of binary success/fail results biting. If you have a DC of 14 in D&D & you roll 13. 1
Grumpy thought of the day: If a committee is too big for anyone in it to be blamed, it's too big a committee. If this is new, it can be called Mith's Law, thanks.
Two nations divided by ... a jam-making technicality ? Ignorant Englishment sometimes take the mickey out of the Yanks for their peanut butter jelly sandwiches, as if they're putting jelly on bread. They ain't. In the UK, most jam is 'jam'. But you can also get 'jelly', jelly being a type of
When I try to talk about Epilepsy Accessibility in videogames, I've started to talk less about "how many more people can play your game" and more about how "this game can cause fatal harm to people if certain options aren't implemented, or even considered."

Pakistani bridal dowries now routinely include four solar panels, an inverter and a battery.
Yeah, at the very least, take the chance to boast about how self-deprecating you are. Those chances don't come up every day you know.
Lots of us were raised in ways that make self-deprecation a reflex but: writers, please don't run down your own genres of choice. For instance: If someone says "Hey, you sold a book?" try not to shuffle and reply "Yeah, but it's just small press poetry" or "Yeah, but it's just a horror novel."

I talked with Mitch McConnell for about 20 minutes today. I was trying to contact him about his car's extended warranty. But I'm sorry to say he was really rude and hung up on me. Sheesh, buddy, I'm just trying to do my job. #dailylie
#GM tip of the day The Harry Dewulf Guide to World-Building harrydewulf.com/hwd/Resource... Some good stuff here This is a massive checklisty thing for (mostly) fantasy writers, to make sure you have at least thought of everything. It's pretty important for an author to know about #ttrpg 1/2

So, a work moan: I've been using the new Outlook for a couple of months now, I think it represents a permanent productivity loss of about 10-20% every time I need to do something email related. Everything's slightly slower, it's harder to find stuff, the UI makes it easier to make mistakes, search
What an excellent way to put it! *doffs hat and bows*
I think there's been a pendulum swing in ttrpg design from the 20teens "here's a bunch of rules, use the ones you want" to "we wrote very few rules, but the ones we wrote matter. Change them at your peril." And I feel like there's a group of GMs who cannot make that adjustment.
*Sigh* @bsky.app @support.bsky.team I've already reported it as porn twice and blocked the account, and yet it's still showing up in the Discover feed. May I suggest the following pretty frigging elementary safety features, if you really haven't thought of them for yourselves?
