The govt has fired *all* the immigration attorneys representing detained children and given a $150 million contract to a 26-employee law firm in Texas with ONE immigration attorney. @theyoungcenter.bsky.social's Child Advocates are now the last line of defense for kids in deportation hearings.

Hundreds of girls in the US are confined by the juvenile justice system for “status offenses,” like running away or truancy. Confinement for these offenses is particularly troubling because those behaviors tend to be responses to abuse. More care, less confinement.

Interesting question. I was expecting a nostalgic trip down memory lane to the " golden age" of adult entertainment. What I got was an eye opening lesson in the reality of racism, marginalization, and exploitation of black bodies. I learned it was a reflection of mainstream society at large. 1/2
