#Critterary 5 Shadow hounds look mostly like the name suggests! They are large, shadowy or smokey hounds. They are usually incorporeal, becoming more or less visible depending on the lighting and when they last...ate. Generally, they are about the size of a pony, sometimes a bit smaller. 🧵

Today we're talking appearance! What exactly does your creature(s) look like? Any variations/regional differences? #Writing #WritingPrompts #Critterary

#Critterary 2: The New Batch (of prompts) - An August writing prompt game. Today's Theme: Appearance. Description time! What does your creature(s) look like? Size, shape, weight, colours, texture, special features... Bottom Tagline: Celebration of all things creatures! Hosted by Serra Leta. Art is a man bent on a knee, examining something with a magnifying glass. Background is a fern-filled jungle.

#MythAugust 5 The hierarchy of the gods is partially based on faith, and partially on a secret, second thing 🤫 The secret, second thing is the reason Gr'ellor and Tasya remain at the top. Agreements were made. Long, long ago. 🧵

#MythAugust 5 Today is about hierarchy! Who ranks highest or lowest among your gods/spirits/whatever? Is there a consensus about this ranking? As usual, interpret the question as loosely as you need to to fit your specific worldbuilding, and feel free to skip if it's not relevant to you! 😊❤️

#MythAugust prompt for Aug 5:
Let's talk hierarchy! Which of your deities are more powerful/respected? Are there minor deities who serve the big ones?

#augustworldbuilders Wizard schools have a very serious environment, the practice of Othic magic being a very dangerous one that can cause great harm to its practitioners. Because of this wizard schools have a similar vibe to strict private schools or boarding schools.

#AugustWorldbuilders, hey there friends! What is the general vibe like at your world's school? Are the students polite and mature? Are there bullying problems? Do they do a lot of group work or is it more focused on individual study?

#mythaugust Within the Uttulu web the gods are seen as a council of artists who work to weave life into the world. Even the destroyer god is part of this council and it is believed that they must work in tandem to achieve balance. Uttulu also believe their gods cannot affect the mortal world.

#MythAugust 4 Today, tell me about the different factions among your gods/spirits. Think like the Æsir & Vanir in Norse mythology, or angels & demons in Christianity. What's their relationship? Are they sworn enemies? Sometimes allies? Interpret the question however makes sense for your story!

#MythAugust prompt for Aug 4:
Are there different factions among your deities? If so, what is their relationship to each other?

#CartAugust The oceans surrounding Zealia are the most important waterways for navigation, since Zealia is a massive island. But there are a few rivers going inland for each of the major countries. #WritingCommunity #ReadingCommunity #WriteSky

#CartAugust Still talking about the features of the terrain. Today: water! Where is it, and can we use it to get around! Is it fresh and life-giving or poisonous? If you don't have water, talk to me about navigable ways

#CartAugust: a prompt game for map nerds! by mcburnellauthor.bsky.com
Natural features: Day 5, Waterways
Rivers, lakes, or oceans. What's the most noteworthy stretch of water here? Is it a navigable way or a death wish?

#AugustWorldbuilders There are multiple teachers that showed up. They are generally professional with varying personalities. That being said, most of them aren't important to the plot so only a few are detailed. Crummel von Licht is the most important #WritingCommunity #ReadingCommunity #WriteSky

#AwesomeCharacters It was Grilled. I mean, obviously. Who else would it be? I don't think I'm worried OR mad, tbh. You know when mom characters say "I'm not angry, just disappointed." Yeah, I'm that mom.

#AnthropologyAugust In Re: Shattered Memories, that would be the soles. They're basically poisonous, solenodon-based goblins. #WritingCommunity #ReadingCommunity #WriteSky

MYSTIC@mystic888wizard.bsky.social · 2d ago

#AnthropologyAugust Once again doing the opposite, we just talked about the largest intelligent species, now what is the smallest? Does your setting have goblins or gnomes? Or does it have even smaller creatures like bugs or fairies? Does their size affect their interactions with other species?

#mythaugust The Uttulu are a very peaceful species, and because of this that is reflected in their gods. Most of the pantheon they believe in are artists, not fighters. While some of them posses negative traits, very few are oppositional or morally questionable. 🧵

🫜Prof Emily🫜@professoremily.bsky.social · 3d ago

#MythAugust 3 What kind of moral code do your fantasy gods or spirits follow, if any? Do they share similar moral values to the people, or is their sense of morality completely alien? Do they even do "morality" at all? As usual, interpret as you wish and don't forget to interact with others! ☺️

#MythAugust prompt for Aug 3:
How does your deities' sense of morality align with that of people? I.e. are they moral, immoral, amoral, a mix...?
