Every "shortcut" in the city is packed with cars because there's more traffic. Not because of bike lanes or whatever bullshit they want to say. When you encourage driving, more cars are on the roads and traffic is worse. Want less traffic? Support public transit and fully protected bike lanes.

There was a big pile of fresh sod sitting here this morning. Nearly a MONTH after this festival, and the area is STILL wrecked. Lollapalooza wrecked Grant Park too. Really, REALLY tired of our "parks" being used as festival grounds.

What a trash take. As a Chicago taxpayer, I'd rather 'take the hit' funding programs that help my neighbors put food on the table than keep paying nine-figure police misconduct settlements (we're up to $225 million so far in 2026)

Chicago Tribune@chicagotribune.com · 3d agoWhile NASCAR is hoping to get the Chicago Street Race back to Grant Park next summer, it may have hit a speed bump in negotiations for a state grant to help defray costs for the event.
If you count illegal right turns on red lights, which I think we can, I see that happen 20 times a day outside my window.
