Layered community detection, built on old gaming PC for fun, art and feeds by @witch.monster. https://skygraph.art Visualization of communities based on @jaz.bsky.social's Atlas β«->π’->π ->π£->π΅ Opt out: @optout.skygraph.art
When I realize that in order to make SkyGraph map streamable* I'll need to dig out my math PhD work, spend 5 years in a basement finishing it and then publish a paper explaining why it was impossible. *so that clusters update incrementally in live without needing full dataset recalculation
when people ask for pinned posts and private accounts
Well, this is probably it. But there's hope. All the code is here: github.com/witchmonster... github.com/witchmonster... github.com/witchmonster... Feel free to reach out to @witch.monster if you need any advice on setting it up.
sorry, after Brazil joined, feeds probably won't go up again. all my indexers are down. I may offer some limited by PDS solution in the future. also happy to help and advice with any solution based on SkyGraph open source code if anyone with adequate recources/funding wants to pick up the project
This actually might be the end of SkyGraph for foreseeable future. I'll need to check how the big indexer (the one I use for updating the dataset) is doing. Then it's another question whether it would be even possible to construct a dataset this large on current equipment (6 year old PC).
SkyGraph feed indexer is not doing well. Few hours behind firehose. Same for @bot.skygraph.art If you don't see fresh posts in skygraph feeds - that is why. Hopefully it will catch up once the surge is over.
The current SkyFeed infrastructure can't handle the extra load (more than 4x) caused by all the new users. I'm currently setting up two new powerful servers, which should have enough resources to get all feeds back online later today. Thanks for your patience and sorry for the downtime π
By the way, these 6 feeds still work since they're powered by @skyfeed.app infrastructure.
Time for some cool feeds on bsky! @redsolver.dev has built these feeds for you based on skygraph.art community detection data A lot of people might find these useful as-is, but these feeds are just the first baby steps - building blocks, that can go into a more complicated Home/Discovery feed. π§΅π
All SkyFeed feeds should now be back online, thanks for your patience! This has been the first and only downtime in the last 4 months.
The SkyFeed infrastructure seems to be experiencing issues. I'm on it

It's fucking vertical This is gonna explode, abandon ship we're all gonna dieeee
Reminder, you can customize your "My Galaxy+" and "My Nebula+" experience using @bot.skygraph.art 1) turn off/on replies: !skygraphbot repliesoff mygalaxy+ !skygraphbot replieson mynebula+ 2) Remove/add follows mix in? !skygraphbot followsoff mynebula+ !skygraphbot followson mygalaxy+
So apparently there was a bug that was rendering the feed empty for the users that tried to use showless. It ended up with the corrupted entry in the db. The bug is now fixed, but the excluded communities for affected users are reset. Sorry for this. π₯Ί
To remove irrelevant content from your feed based on a single post/profile use: !skygraphbot showless mygalaxy+::[link to post or profile] !skygraphbot showless mynebula+::[link to post or profile] Example: !skygraphbot showless mygalaxy+::https://bsky.app/profile/pfrazee.com/post/3kxdn7ka2n22y

Experiencing an outage. Team is working on it.
Both feeds are down. Unfortunately, this will be a longer downtime than usual as I'll have to re-create the feeds from scratch. Once they're back, they'll take some time to fill up and catch up to your likes and start showing you relevant information again.
It's one of those days again. Getting feeds back up in a few minutes.
Server is experiencing some issues. Feeds will be up in a minute.
SKYGRAPH! a primer! @skygraph.art is a community visualization tool created by @witch.monster based on Atlas, by Jaz. each node (dot) is a community, which has a "leader" (i call them mastheads) the most socially active account by weighted mutual interactions. node size correlated to comm size.
Skygrants are nice, but it would be nice to have some kind of automated service, that would allow community projects like this to support the infra costs. SkyGraph feed server currently costs 30 bucks a month. With growth it might eat up to 50-70. Easy for a large enough group of users to support.
Same will inevitably happen with my feeds if too many people start using it and I'm no longer able to afford the server out of my own pocket. That's why I invest into open sourcing the code and collaborating with other community projects who do have the infrastructure and financing to support it.
Bluesky lets developers create complex custom feeds. But how does that actually work in practice? I talked to the developer behind @skygraph.art to learn more about how to make a good algorithmic feed. www.nightwater.email/bluesky-skyg...

June 2024 SkyGraph dataset update is here. Live now at skygraph.art 3d party PDSs are included on the map now. Feeds will be udated to the new dataset gradually next week.
You may now preview π every π€ Gigacluster, π Supercluster and 𧑠Cluster of size 100 or more skygraph.art Each preview has color overlay showing sub-communities: - π€ Gigaclusters and π Superclusters previews have 𧑠Clusters as color overlays - 𧑠Clusters previews have π Nebulas as color overlays

PSA: how to make sure low quality "news"/"memes" accounts don't show up in your community and as a result - in SkyGraph feeds: - Don't reply, like or follow them - Tell your moots to do the same - Report spam - Use labelers such as @profile-labels.bossett.social to filter out repetitive content
SkyGraph feeds will be unavailable for a few hours due to server maintenance.
@ap.brid.gy users, welcome to SkyGraph! You will show up on skygraph.art map and your posts will become available in both feeds by the end of the week, once update to SkyGraph v5 (June 4th) is complete.
I'm thinking about turning off replies in "My Galaxy+" by default. And keeping them on in "My Nebula+". What you think? You will still be able to customize it using @bot.skygraph.art commands: !skygraphbot replieson mygalaxy+ !skygraphbot repliesoff mynebula+
Not found in most recent SkyGraph dataset? Not a problem! I'm rolling out the new label propagation system based on your likes. Community that gets the most mutual* likes from you becomes your community until the next big dataset update! *harmonic mean of likes in and likes out
It's a very old and deprecated draft, but I thought I'd show it to you because it's pretty π ππ¦π¦π³πΊπ
here's my old architecture design for skygraph as a fully streamlined automated distributed system. that's SkyGraph only (assuming Bsky is Twitter scale or bigger)
