this is a helpful skill for everybody! if you're reading humanities research: - read the intro - read the conclusion - identify the author's argument, what evidence they're using to support it, and why they think it matters - skim headers and topic sentences it's a word find, not a novel
If you don't mind me asking: how do you do academic speed reading? You mentioned it in your blogpost on doing a phd and I was certainly not taught how to during my undergrad time.
