Except for religious studies, the graduates of these "loan ineligible" majors are disproportionately women. Fans of this policy have probably never considered that social worker, cosmetician, teachers aide, etc might be low-paying jobs *because* women do them. newrepublic.com/post/213446/...

The Los Angeles Times reported Wednesday that the Education Department has finalized a rule that will force schools to prove that the loans students are taking out are paying off. Degrees for social work, art, religious studies, teaching aides, and music, and cosmetic certification programs will be hit the hardest. For-profit programs will also be hit particularly hard.

Can't confirm, but I heard yesterday through the grapevine that the local IRC office has had to cut jobs because they just aren't letting refugees in. That's how bad it is.

For the past five months the only refugees the USA has accepted are white South Africans fleeing equality & safety meanwhile they are disappearing or strapping ankle monitors on any Haitian they can get ahold of. It needs to be understood how thoroughly connected these two things are.

Not sure if everyone appreciates the difference. Rooftop solar hardwires into your main panel via a dedicated breaker, so it requires a permit, an installer, an electrician, and a utility agreement. My photo collage shows various copper-alloy objects, now green with corrosion, from the Melsonby Iron Age Hoard on display at the Yorkshire Museum in York. Top left: a copper-alloy bridle bit. The metal rod was placed in the ponies mouth and the rings at each end rested on the cheeks Middle left: an ornate copper-alloy finial Bottom left: Decorative horse harness fitting Top right: a view of the so-called ‘Block’. The block is made up of 88 individual artefacts which were threaded together, wrapped in fabric and then buried. Over time the objects have become fused together due to iron corrosion and appear as a large orangey-brown block of corroded metal. Objects in the block include horse harnesses, spearheads, wagon parts, and more!
