She was on the surface when the submerged U-boat hit her with a single torpedo. One man survived from her 42 crew: he was carried to the surface in an air bubble and picked up by U.34, and became a POW. #RoyalNavy #WW2
Always been fascinated by the logistics take and stats about how much Allied armour was returned to the frontline, as well as ground crews (hidden work) for the RAF but unfortunately they don't make good narrative books. Cracking photos though.

When you see this " the rules of war" with combatants lying side by side. It seems even more pointless that they were fighting in the first place. If Hitler had put all that effort into agricultural and industrial reform in Germany, as happened post WW2, there would have been no war at all?

Spent my childhood on army ranges, in fox holes & butts looking for spent cases, bullets & links etc. As well as getting the cordite out of a suitcase of .303 to make bombs & rockets… can’t help thinking this must have been quite the (dangerous) playground for some kids once battle had moved on.
